Bulk cleansing and surface treatments

Dear Puzzler Friends,

Some of you have been inquiring about our progress, so we thought it was time for a new blog post. First of all, CNC machining is almost complete for all 200 copies. We are currently busy removing paste manually from the several hundreds of polished pieces before sending them for bulk surface treatments (brown and black anodizing, nickel plating). Our goal is to clean and surface treat these parts in bulk so that the assembly of subsequent batches may become faster. We know that the long wait is frustrating. We are also struggling with time management alongside our day- (and night-) jobs. We originally planned to have the 200 pieces finished by now, but the non-automated process of paste removal from several thousands of pieces presented unforeseen obstacles, which changed our plans. Nevertheless, we are really determined to sacrifice our free time and extend the duration of the project to ensure that the quality remains at the highest level. We are sticking to this approach, even if it is at the expense of our own budget. If there should be any future project of ours, this will definitely be a good lesson learned. We sincerely hope that the end result will be worth every minute of your valuable time patiently spent on our waitlist. In order to shorten the overall duration of the project, we may increase the individual batch sizes within reasonable limits (from 30-35 to 40-45 per batch). We will let you know when the next batch is being shipped (definately still in 2025). In the meantime, please check out some photos of the parts ready to be sent for surface treatment.

Kind regards,
Daniel
